Hero Bio:

Domenico Togniotti, born at Lamies, Lucco, Italy, in April, 1891. Entered the Service from Sparks, Nevada, November 2, 1917. Served in 37th Company, 166th Depot Brigade, Camp Lewis, Washington, to November 10, 1917; Company K, 164th Infantry, 41st Division, to January 9, 1918; and in Company G. 16th Infantry, 1st Division, until his death. Went overseas with the 41st Division on December 15, 1917. Served in the front-line trenches of the Toul Sector from January 18th to April 2d, 1918; in the front line of the Montdidier Sector from April 25th to May 28th, 1918; and the battle for the heights above Soissons (Cantigny), beginning May 28, 1918. Died of wounds received at Cantigny, June 20, 1918.

Person notified of death, G. Togniotti, brother, Elko, Nevada. All efforts to communicate with relatives or acquaintances have failed. His name is on the Washoe County Roll of Honor.
